Eva Marie Bonner was born January 1, 1933, to parents Robert and Jesse Ruth Bonner, in Kimberly, West Virginia. The older siblings were Robert Jr. and sister Cleo, and younger siblings were Etta, Cora, and Colbert.
Eva graduated from West Virginia State College with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While at college she met Moreno Miller. They would marry in 1955. To this union, a son, Moreno Miller II was born in 1957.
Eva was a Second-Grade teacher in the Cleveland School district for 30+ years. Eva was a longtime member of the Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church (GABC), with active participation in the Progressive League.
Eva enjoyed traveling by bus and train. No airplanes. She traveled from coast to coast. She enjoyed the different locations that she visited. However, she was a little disappointed on her trip to San Francisco. It turned out that the Golden State Bridge was not actually gold in color, but some form of reddish orange! She enjoyed chartered bus trips to casinos, and live entertainment venues such as Public Auditorium and Leo's Casino.
Eva also enjoyed baseball and boxing. She was right there at the Liberty Theater for the closed circuit viewing of the Ali-Frazier fight in 1971.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and nephew, Gregory Bonner.
Eva passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Moreno Miller II; seven nieces and nephews, Deborah Hopkins, Roy Hopkins(Belinda), Noble Hopkins, Ronald Brown, Kimberly Millner, Joseph Evans, George 'Jack' Shelton III, and a host of cousins and friends.
