Willo Jean Marrow

October 16, 1936 - September 10, 2023

Willo Jean Morrow (McDonald) went home to be with the Lord at the age of 86 years young on September 10, 2023.

She was the oldest of four children born to Dan McDonald (deceased) and Janie McDonald (deceased) on October 16, 1936, in Heidelberg MS. She moved to Cleveland OH in 1956 where she spent most of her life and worshipped at Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church (GABC). She was a faithful member of GABC, including serving as a member and in leadership roles on the Social Development Committee and the Abigail Circle.

In 1956, Willo married her Heidelberg MS childhood sweetheart, James Henry Morrow (deceased [divorced]). They have two children: Vickie Brown of Cleveland OH and Juanicki McAndrews (Willie) of Smyrna GA. Willo worked over thirty years in a variety of positions at Mount Sinai Hospital and over fourteen years at The Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland OH, spending most of her career as a dialysis technician.

Willo has three grand, eight great grand, and seven great great grandchildren: Lanise, Poplia, Juanicki, Teja, Dan, Shaun, Jamie, Da’Shaun, Te’Shaun, Jebrel (deceased), Keith, Amyia, Shaunea, Jashaun, Aaliyah, Danyia, Dynasty, and Jebrel.

Willo was a loving support system to her mother, grandchildren, and sister and brothers: Bettye Louise Owens (deceased), James Wilson (deceased) and Reverend Shallie (deceased).

She enjoyed Sunday school, bible study, planning church events that touched the community, writing notes and cards to her loved ones and friends, family reunions, and journaling. One of her favorite songs was “Encourage Yourself.” We thank her for spreading so much love and encouragement to others.

Proverbs 31:25 and 40 describe her best: “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” “… a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Our lives will forever be enriched by her memory.

Saturday, September 23, 2023,

beginning at 10:00 AM at Wesley Chapel AME Church, 234 County Road 333, Heidelberg, MS 39439.
